Youth wrestlers qualify for states

GRAFTON—The Grafton Wrestling Club participated in the Region II meet at University High School on Sunday and all twenty of Grafton’s wrestlers who competed in the event finished in the top eight, with 15 of those 20 wrestlers finishing in the top six and qualifying for the state meet in Huntington this weekend.

The event, officially known as the 2020 West Virginia Youth Wrestling Association Youth Championships, will be held at the Mountain Health Arena (formerly the Big Sandy Superstore Arena) from February 21-23.

Tickets for the event will be $10 for adults for a one-day pass or $15 for a two-day pass, while student tickets are $5 for a one-day pass or $10 for a two-day pass. Children under six years old are admitted for free.

The Grafton Wrestling Club’s results from the Region 2 meet are listed below with an asterisk indicating the wrestlers who qualified for the state tournament.
