WVU football offers camp opportunities


MORGANTOWN—Join the West Virginia University Football Program for the Future Mountaineer Youth/Middle School camp taking place next week. 

The three-day camp is slated for Tuesday, June 14 through Thursday, June 16 at Milan Puskar Stadium, from 9:00 a.m. until noon.The cost is $150 and includes a t-shirt and one complimentary game ticket for the WVU Football match up against Towson that is scheduled for Saturday, September 17. 

According to their website, www.wvufootballcamps.com, additional tickets may be purchased at the discounted rate of $30. At the conclusion of the camp, a link will be sent to all emails that registered for the event to be able to redeem the ticket and purchase additional discounted tickets if desired.

Parents are encouraged to attend all camp sessions; however, seating will not be provided. Guardians may bring their own chairs as long as they are placed a safe distance from the field. 

The camp is open to those in grades first through eighth and campers will be divided into two categories: first-fifth grades and sixth-eighth. Participants should dress in t-shirts, athletic shorts and wear cleats. They are also required to bring with them a completed medical release form and a copy of a completed physical that has been performed within one year of the start of camp.

Additionally, the program will be hosting Elite One-Day Camps on Monday, June 13 and Monday, June 20 for those in grades nine through 12. These camps will be held from 1:00-5:00 p.m.

The one-day camps will cost $50 per camper and include a t-shirt and will also take place at Milan Puskar Stadium. 

Medical releases and physicals are also required for campers to participate.

In addition, all offensive line and defensive line prospects will be required to bring their own helmet for camp. All other prospects working out at camp will not need a helmet.
