FLEMINGTON—West Taylor Elementary School hosted a Dome Theatre for students to enjoy on Thursday.
According to kramerintl.com, the dome theatre is a portable HD Planetarium developed by Rice University and the Houston Museum of Natural Science and with the support of NASA.
The theatre is 16 feet by 16 feet wide and reaches over 10 feet tall. The dome travels all over the nation offering an truly unique educational experience.
The theatre offers unlimited On-Demand educational programs that are focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
Principal Jamison Fisher shared that teachers were able to choose topics related to their curriculum.
Some of the videos teachers chose included, The Search for the Cardboard Rocket, Into the Deep, The Night of the Titanic and Habitat Earth.
While in the theater students were surrounded with stunning visuals and knowledge of the subject their teachers chose for them.
With the prediction of inclement weather, school was dismissed early, but Fisher grouped some classes together to make sure all students had the opportunity to experience the unique theater.
“The students really enjoyed having the dome at the school. I am happy they were able to enjoy this unique and fun educational experience,” said Fisher.
