Daniel 2: 21: He changes times and seasons, He removes kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.
Do you ever feel like you need a new season in your life? Daniel was seeing during his time that all seasons, times and happenings are in God’s control. We need to remember that right now. God is still on the throne. He hasn’t abdicated His position. As Natalie Grant sings in her song, He’s still King of the World. Sure, the devil is ruler here for now, a temporary position, but we must not forget, God has always been the King of All. Not the devil, not us. We aren’t kings of our world. God has us in the palm of His hand, and His plans for us are wonderful. Our part is simple, just trust Him and obey.
Many are upset over politics. They hated the last president or they don’t like the one now. They blame it on many things, but read the verse above, He removes kings, or presidents. He puts them in place as well. Sometimes to bless a nation or people, sometimes to judge them.
Your personal life can work the same way. Sometimes God allows hardship to come our way in order to mold us to be more like Jesus. Sometimes, it’s just life. But, with trust in Him and a willingness to seek His wisdom and try our best to obey, it will all work out eventually. It’s that last word that we don’t like. Eventually. That usually has “a time of waiting” attached to it, and man do we hate the waiting.
It’s my personal opinion that our nation is beginning to see judgment. Remember the hardship that comes to mold us? I truly believe that we can make things better by pleasing our God. We need to pray and seek His face and quit the harmful things we’re doing to ourselves, like: hating our neighbor, having road rage, living a greedy quest for more and more things and money. You would think the way some live that the world is one big arcade, put there for our pleasure no matter of what variety it may be. We need to be willing to work for what we have and not stand around with hands outstretched to receive the latest freebie. Kindness is almost a forgotten word, and action.
If you love your neighbor as we’re told to do, you won’t steal from him, that includes his wife. You will help him in his time of need, and he in turn will do the same for you.
Yeah! We’re in a mess. Our only hope is God, the real King of the world. Make Him the king of your life and watch the changes that begin to take place. Things will become less scary. Fear will begin to leave, because when we love His way, perfectly, it casts out all fear. The great commandment,” Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” (Matthew 12: 30-31. Until next time!
