Women of a New Season “He was there all the time,"

Hebrews 13: 5:  Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have, for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

We used to sing that little chorus years ago, He Was There All the Time.   Waiting patiently in line, He was there all the time.

During my husband’s funeral last January, a friend of my kids came and stayed the whole day.  He stood silently in one spot, never moving, just watching to see if any of us would need anything.  This man is a wonderful Christian and we’ve known him since they were all very young. That moved me more than words can ever say.  We knew he was there if we needed him.

Jesus has always been that way in my life.  In the 1970’s, He was there to bring two broken people together and to save them and guide their lives. In the 80’s He comforted me when my dad passed away, and helped the kids with college, He called my husband and I into ministry.  In the 90’s He worked on us, training us, keeping us safe and leading us to our beloved New England. In the 2000’s, He again was there to comfort when I lost my mom.  He brought us back home to West Virginia, and has guided our footsteps every moment.  He is still leading and guiding me, even though I am now on my own. Especially, now that I’m on my own.

When my husband died, I was in a fog for a good while.  He was there all the time.  Silently comforting, silently and strongly felt, just like our precious friend Danny at the funeral.

We are living in horrendous times, and I want you to know that He is there.  He will protect you, guide you, comfort you, love you and there is no power or force on earth that can be felt the way He can, in that gentle, quiet, strong and loving way.  Turn to Him today.  You need Him.  We all need Him. He didn’t just now show up on the scene, He was there all the time.  Until next time!

If you are interested in a gal’s gathering where you can make new friends, learn about Jesus and hear others tell their story, and also tell yours, call Paula.  We have several small ladies’ groups starting to meet for the purpose of getting stronger together.  It’s not just for New Season, everyone is welcome.  Paula can be reached at 304-677-9220 and she’d love to talk to you.
