Women of a New Season “For this time and this season”

Esther 4: 14:  For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish.  Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this.

Acts 17: 26: And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.

Times right now are rough, to say the least. Covid-19 has been running our lives for several months.  Businesses are failing due to that.  Divorces and suicides are taking place as a byproduct of the Pandemic. Our country is in a political upheaval. Cities are being destroyed by looting and rioting. Fringe groups are trying to control our lives and the Media can’t be trusted.  People don’t know who to turn to. Some people are emotionally distraught, some physically ill from stress, and others are totally depressed. Other people are terribly fearful.  The virus scares them, the rioters scare them.  They don’t know where to turn.  Many are in turmoil from constant fretting over perceived issues and threats.

Please read these verses at least twice, and note a few things.  The first one was for Esther, her people needed help or they would be destroyed.  She was warned she would perish if she didn’t do what she was called to do, then told that she was in that situation for that particular time.

That verse is also for you and me.  Our people, our families, friends, church friends and coworkers are the people I mentioned above.  They don’t know where to turn, and it just happens to be Jesus, and we each just happen to be the Esther who is living here for such a time as this.

Don’t you realize how much God trusts you?  He chose YOU to be alive during this time of turmoil and upheaval.  And like Esther, He is assigning you to speak to those who are hurting and show them the way.  To do less is disobedience and you can read what was in store for Esther if she disobeyed.

Read that verse in Acts a couple more times.  The rioters need to read it.  He, God, has made from ONE BLOOD, every nation of men on the earth. So, we are all blood brothers.  Think about it. Then He, again, God, set our times to live here and where we’d live.  So, He chose YOU to live where you live and be here on this earth in 2020.  Why?  Because He made you for this time. You are designer made for this very time in which we are living.

You carry within you the answer to the depressed, hurting, fearful and confused people out there. You can tell them about Jesus and His great love for us. This is not Mission Impossible, if we His people will obey the call.  You can share Jesus with a friend over coffee.  You can share Him in the check-out line in the grocery store.  You can share Him with your neighbor, your mother, your closest friend or your, not so close, least favorite person.  You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to talk about Jesus. Just tell them what He’s done for you.  How he healed you, or saved your marriage, or had an estranged love one come back into your life.

Hey, He is easy to love.  Easy to talk about. YOU were chosen for “This Time and This Season.”  You’ve been living as a Christian for maybe a long time or maybe a short while, but now, this season is the time to do what you are here on this earth to do.  Don’t blow it.  Until next time!
