WOMEN OF A NEW SEASON: DON’T LEAVE YOUR POST

Ecclesiastes 10: 4: If the spirit of the ruler arises against you, do not leave your post; for conciliation pacifies great offenses.

There sure has been a lot of confusion and chaos in our world lately.  It’s hard to know who or what to believe. In the midst of turmoil all around us we must stand our ground.  God has assigned us a post, and we must not leave it. Let me give you a couple examples.

Covid-19 is running rampant and controlling our lives, closing our businesses, keeping our kids out of school, costing us lives and money. So, what do we do?  We stay at our post.  We teach our kids, and using love and wisdom, remain good parents. We go to work as long as we have a job, and search for a new one if we must. We keep fighting the good fight of faith. No, we do not break down doors in places we deem responsible for our angst. We stay at our post and lead others with steadfast calmness.

If we are told we can’t attend worship, we stay at our post as worshippers of God.  As Jesus said, “for the time will come and now is when men will worship in spirit and in truth.”  We may have to use innovative and temporary methods, but, we never leave our post as a worshipper of our God, and we must work to keep our houses of worship open lest we lose the privilege.

When your marriage gets a little rocky, and there has been no adultery or physical abuse, but you can’t seem to agree on anything, you must strive with all that you have to make your marriage work. Call your pastor or a counselor for help, but don’t leave your post, you made those wedding vows.  God isn’t pleased when we break a vow made to and before Him.

Ecclesiastes 5:4: When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it.  For He has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you have vowed. NKJV

The world is spiraling downward, out of control at warp speed, but God is steadfast, our True North. God is still on the throne.  He has placed each of us on this earth as spouses, parents, church members, pastors, teachers, journalists, and so on.  Whatever your position, whatever your post, you must remain steadfast and stand strong.  Do Not Leave Your Post.  Someone needs you.  God is counting on you.  Until next time!
