Psalm 119: 18: Open my eyes that I may behold Wonderful things from your law. NASB
Basically, this verse is saying, “Open my spiritual eyes that I may know and understand, and recognize wondrous things from your teaching. As we sit to study God’s Word, we cannot comprehend the value of it on our own, we need help from Holy Spirit. Don’t give up yet, keep reading, I’ll bring it home for you in a minute, but first I need to unpack some truths for you.
Many of the women I talk to, (and this can also apply to men), feel they have little or no self-worth. This is because they need their eyes opened to the wonderful things in God’s instructions. For one thing, we should praise God because we are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Psalm 139: 14: I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. NKJV
You’ve all heard that old cliché’, “God don’t make no junk!” Well, it’s true. Who are we to criticize the wonderous creations of God? That means when that creation is us. God loves us with an everlasting love. Many times, people will tell you that it’s sinful to feel a sense of self-worth or self-confidence. That is not true. You won’t be as good on your job as you can be without confidence. You won’t be able to tell others about Jesus or invite them to church, without confidence.
Bible study is full of interesting facts and historical truths, but we also need to be taught how to apply them to our own life. Once you begin to study the Word of God and begin to see how much He loves and adores us, His people, His church, His bride, then you will begin to see how valuable you are to Him.
God values human life or He would not have created it. That’s why abortion is so horrific, it destroys a human life. We are literally adored by our God. The God who sees us. He sees our struggle and, He sees our hurts. He sees your fears and He sees how you compare yourself to others. He doesn’t want you to compare yourself to anyone else, because He doesn’t compare you to anyone else. To Him there is no one like you. He made you one of a kind. He loves you uniquely because you are unique. (He made you that way).
Once you know who you are in Christ, the world is your oyster. (Excuse that old cliché’). Please realize that you are precious in His sight. He is the God who sees you and He wants your eyes opened to see Him and the great value He has placed upon you. Until next time!
