When Jesus comes into your heart, your desires change also. You don’t want to live and do the things that this world does. Your talk changes, the way you dress and places you used to go change too. Even your old friends leave you when you become a Christian.
The word Christian means Christ like. No, we are not perfect people. We strive to lead the holy life Christ has demanded us to live. The Bible tells us to come out from among them and be ye separate sayeth the Lord.
Our desires change. He gives us peace and joy that only he can give. We need Jesus, we can’t make it on our own. He promises a mansion, he promises that he will never leave nor forsake us. He tells us that he is the Lord that heals. He will guide us through his word. These are only some of the promises he has given us if we walk in his paths.
Jesus tells us that he is the way, the truth and the life. There is no other way but through the blood of Jesus. Have you had a change in the way you live since Jesus came into your heart? Are you leading souls to Christ? Are you telling people about the hope we have in Jesus and that they can have it too? Jesus is no respecter of persons, and he is not willing that any perish but that all come to repentance.
We have been given a big responsibility to win the lost to Jesus. He commands us to go into all the world. Jesus loves everyone and died for them. It is a privilege to be called his child to those who love and serve him with their whole heart.
I don’t deserve his mercy and his grace, but I accept it through the blood of Jesus Christ. I now can say that I am a child of the King. Not everyone that says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven.
He’s coming back for a bride without spot or wrinkle, washed in the blood of the lamb. Look at the story of the ten virgins. Five had their lamps ready and made it, five did not and were left behind. Which one will you be?
Call upon Jesus. He is waiting for you to call on him. He won’t turn you away. Backslider, come back to him today.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Rev. Teresa Reid
