The bible tells us that when there is no vision people perish. Have we lost our love and compassion for people? Are we too busy with our everyday lives that we don’t have time anymore to do what God has called us to do?
Jesus tells us that he is a jealous God. He will share his glory with no man. He tells us to love the Lord thy God with all of our hearts, minds and souls and to love thy neighbor as thyself. We are to let our light shine before men, so that they can see Jesus in us.
We live in a hopeless world. Our cities and towns are in a terrible mess. Jesus says to go into all the world and preach the gospel. We must still be about our Father’s business. We are to be servants for him. We are our brother’s keeper. We are to look out for our elderly people and people who are sick and going through tough times. We as Christians cannot shut up our bowels of mercy. We must show love, the love of Jesus. How many of these things have we tried to do?
Our lives are full of a lot of things like sports and other things that take our time. We are too busy for ourselves. Do we pray, do we read the worked like we are supposed to? Or, do we not have the time to read and time to pray and seek God? We need to stop and think about what is important in our lives. People are always tired and worn out, but what are they really doing that will be added to what the book will say? Will there be any stars in our crowns?
Church, it is time to stop and think about what we want to accomplish in this life. Only what we do for Jesus will last. Heaven and earth will pass away, but the Word of God will endure for all eternity. We want to go to Heaven, but we also want to take others with us. Must I go empty handed? No, we want to take out friends and family with us. Seek him while he may be found. Let’s be the army God has called us to be, while it is yet day. No work when night comes.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
