How can people see in the darkness? When it is dark, you can’t see anything. But when the light is applied you can see all around you. We must allow Jesus’s light to shine in our lives every day. We must show the world that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We must live like Christ lived. He tells us we are the salt of the earth. Salt seasons and preserves. Souls need to be saved. Jesus is coming back soon.
Church, has your light gone out? Do you let your light shine at work, in your neighborhood and anywhere else you may go? Not only at church. We must let our light shine on our everyday lives. I think too long the churches’ lights have grown dim. If our light has gone out, how can people find Jesus? We are the only Bible some people read. Just as the ten virgins; five wise, five foolish. Five had their lights trimmed and burning. The others had let their light grow dim and when the Bridegroom came, they had to go get oil. But while they went to get oil, the Bridegroom came back. They missed it.
Only you know how bright your light is shining. Has yours gone out? Are you hid under a bushel? We must keep our lamps filled with oil. The oil that comes from reading the word, studying the word, praying and seeking God with our whole heart. We must make sure people are seeing the light of Christ in our lives.
The song says, “Give me oil in my lamp, keep me burning for Jesus. Till Jesus comes back for his own.” I want my light to shine for Jesus each day, and I want it to be a bright light so that no one has to be lost. But we all need to light our lights, shine for Jesus. There is so much darkness in our world, but we have the light of God in our hearts.
Will you let your light shine? The world is crying out for help. They are miserable, unhappy, and have no reason for living. Let us give them that reason in Jesus. I don’t want to have to tell people I’m a Christian. I want the light of Christ to shine in me that they will now without a doubt I’ a child of the King. Let your light shine before men every day so that our Heavenly Father will be glorified.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
