Men’s and women’s hearts are full of fear. Not knowing how long this will last and how much worse the results of this virus will be. God’s trying to get our attention. No, he didn’t cause this, but he is allowing this to happen, so God’s people will really pray and see his face. God is the only one who can turn this around. Yes, we must do our part in what the governor is asking and telling us to do. If not, it will certainly continue to get out of hand. Many have died and many more will die in the days to come. People are losing their jobs; people are working from home. Children are doing lessons from home. Churches are closed. Have any of you seen such a time as this? I haven’t. There is so much uncertainty. What’s next?
Children of God need to trust fully upon the Lord. We don’t have to fear if he walks with us and talks with us. He must be the center of our lives. His is our shield and protection. Jesus doesn’t want his children to be afraid. He didn’t give us the spirit of fear, but of love power. We are overcomers through Jesus. God is still in control. II Chronicles 7:14 gives us the answer, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
He will give us in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon the Lord. He will keep us in perfect peace, his peace, not as the world gives! It’s not time for the church to panic. It is time to pray! Pray for our president and those that are over us. First responders, nurses, doctors, CNAs, EMTs, and all of those that serve us. Preachers pray for guidance from the Lord. Seek his face to see what he would have us do during this time. Read Psalm 23 and Psalm 91 each day to reassure yourself that God will protect his people, Christian people. Pray for your preachers. Pray for the church, today. It’s not time to sit, it is time to work like we have never worked before. We must lean on the strong arm of God. He can and will take care of us. He will get us through this in his timing, not ours. Panic attacks aren’t fun, so try having the real peace that Jesus gives to us.
Yours in Christ Jesus
