My Jesus is alive. Over death he has conquered. Death could not keep in the grave. He arose like he said, on the third day. Because Jesus lives, we can live also. That’s why we have victory in Jesus. We can sing Hallelujah to the Lamb, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and he talks with me along the narrow way. Let all the world rejoice. He’s alive for ever more. Praise the Lord, my savior is alive and well. Because he lives, I will live with him some day.
Yes, Easter was difficult this year. No family get togethers, no egg hunts, no church services, son sun rise services. Some of you may not know what we mean by Easter Sunrise service. You go to church or on a hillside before daylight, before the sun comes up, and you sing praises to God. It’s one of the most beautiful services I’ve ever went to when I was young. I sure miss them. Today, you don’t hear much about them anymore. If you’ve not attended one, you don’t know what you have missed.
Boy, things have changed. Churches have changed. Even as Jesus was the light. We are to be the light. How bright are we shining? This should not be just another Sunday. We should have put Jesus first. Not the Easter Bunny, coloring eggs, or Easter Dinner. If it wasn’t for Jesus, we wouldn’t have any of these. Everything we have comes from Jesus. He was beaten for us, mocked for us. His side was pierced with a sword. A crown of thorns placed on his head, nails in his hands and feet. He was spat upon, his beard plucked. Jesus did all of this for you and me. Thank you, Jesus, for paying the awful price for my salvation. He didn’t have to die for me, but he did. He loved us that much. I hope you said a special thank you to Jesus for what he has done for all of us. He is not willing that any perish, but that come to repentance. What will you do with this man called Jesus? Either serve him or reject him. It’s your choice, it’s up to you now.
Yours in Christ Jesus
