Williams finishes second at Cameron

CAMERON – The Grafton High School wrestling team competed in the Cameron Alumni Invitational last Saturday at Cameron High School.

The Cats only sent five wrestlers to the event, and with that low number the Cats finished in 10th place in the team competition.

The Cats competed against teams from Cameron, Doddridge, East Fairmont, Fairmont Senior, Hurricane, John Marshall, Lincoln, Notre Dame, Northridge, Oak Glen, Petersburg, Robert C. Byrd, St. Marys, Tyler Consolidated and Weirton.

“This was a really tough tournament, as we were missing a few Bearcats this weekend,” said head coach Keith Zebley. “We didn’t wrestle our best this week and will have to bounce back fast as we have a long tough January,” he added.

The tough January will continue this weekend, as the Cats head to Braxton County. The Braxton tournament will begin on Friday and run through Saturday.
