William “Guy” Stevens, age 69, of Sinsel Lane, Independence, WV, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019, at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a short illness.
He was born May 26, 1950 in Grafton, WV a son of the late William Albert and Lula Mae (Shackelford) Stevens.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Linda “Darlene” (Goff) Stevens; three daughters, Lisa Diane Stevens Peters of Grafton, Jessie Autumn Stevens of Morgantown, and Ashley Nicole Stevens also of Grafton; two grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Peters and William Bishop Stevens; and one brother, Milton Louis “Louie” Stevens of Grafton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Abigail Faith Spiker.
Guy graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1969.
He retired from JD Signs Company of Fairmont where he was a Master Electrician for over 25 years.
He was a member of the Independence Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a Sunday School teacher.
He enjoyed his family, hunting, and woodworking.
The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Wednesday, November 6, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Carl Trickett officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery.
