William Fenton “Butch” Ransom Jr, 61, of Philippi, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday, April 4, 2020.
He was born May 10, 1958 in Charleston, son of the late Ruth Ann Silman Guthrie.
Butch is survived by his wife Ricki A. Jones Ransom, Philippi.
He retired from Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority where he was head of the maintenance dept. He loved hunting, fishing, doing tattoos, and was a very talented artist in so many different ways. He was a member of the Philippi Southern Baptist Church.
Butch is survived by two sons, B.J. Ransom, Mt. Sterling, OH, Evan Dadisman, and fiancée, Salena, Philippi, step-daughter, Jess Hamblin, Mt. Sterling, OH; two granddaughters, Ollivia and Kaitlyn Ransom, Mt. Sterling, OH; mother-in-law, Peggy Bartlett Jones, his beloved four legged companions, Thor and grand dog, Ollie Boy.
In addition to his mother, Butch was preceded in death by one son, Shane Ransom; father-in-law, Richard A Jones.
Private visitation and service will be held at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave, Grafton, WV, with Pastor Jim Strawderman officiating.
Private interment will be at the Pitman Cemetery, Union Road, Philippi.
