West Virginia Dirt Trackin' Swenskie wins Street Stock Special

Well fellow dirt eaters we got two of three days in before the rains came this week. At Elkins on Friday, James Swenskie set fast time in the Street Stocks at 17.519 seconds.  Swenskie would fend off Josh Rovello early. Then would have to hold off Jamie Keene for the win. Jason Ammons was third, Todd Simmons fourth and Nathan Cowger was fifth.

New comer Colton Burdette tripped the clock the quickest in the Super Late Models with a time of 14.773 seconds.  Burdette and Travis Brown scored prelim honors. At the drop of the green flag Paul Wilmoth Jr. grabbed the point and would not let it go. Burdette chased ‘the Gambler’ circuit after circuit, but could not make a serious bid. Burdette had to settle for second, Billy Holbert, Cody Hardesty and Shane Hitt rounded out the top five.

In the FASTRAK Late Models Garrett Paugh took the front spot at the outset, but Logan Roberson, Brent Trimble, and Kyle Thomas were hot on his tail. Troy Frazier snuck by Trimble for second, Thomas was fourth and Donnie Dotson completed the top five.

Third generation driver Daniel Hill shot to the lead at the start of the Modified finale with Mike Murphy on his decklid.  Under a yellow on lap 12, something caught the flagmans attention. Hill’s left rear wheel was loose. Hill wanted to continue. When the checkers fell Hill won, Murphy was second, Jamie McCloud, Anthony Arbogast and Tommy Powell were third through fifth. While pulling onto scales, the wheel fell off.

Steven Dotson would lead flag to flag in the Hot Mod finale. Tom Sigler, Dusty Harper, Travis Thomas and Dylan Henkins followed Dotson across the stripe.

Brad Currence made it two for two in the Mini Mod Junior class. Currence bested Kolby Sullivan, Declan Carpenter, Cole Tasker and Kristopher Wyatt. Also notching his second consecutive victory Noah Whited outran Gunner Binns, Blake Runyon, Jakob Barrett, Alexis Cooper and Brett Howell.
