West Taylor Elementary students treated to an end-of-year fun day

FLEMINGTON—The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), of West Taylor Elementary school, treated the students to a special end of the year, day of fun, on Monday.

The all day event, which was held outside of the school, was comprised of 16 stations, each with a different activity for the students.

Throughout the day, students rotated around the stations that included inflatable bounce houses, water slides and a video game truck, as well as, dancing and soccer.

In addition, food, water and snack stations were available during the event.

PTO Vice President Julie Austin, shared that the PTO sponsored the event, and that parent volunteers helped with the stations.

“Fundraisers throughout the year made the event possible. The kids love the event every year, and we enjoy doing it,” said Austin.

She shared that Michelle Persinger, PTO secretary was the Chairperson for the event.

“She worked really hard to organize the event this year, and it turned out great,” expressed Austin.

Austin reported that Hillbilly Fun, a company out of Summersville, WV, provided the entertainment for this year’s day of fun.

Inside the school, the students had popcorn and watched a magic show in the library. Jacob Culp, of Grafton, provided the show for the students.

According to Persinger, Culp also came to the school in March for Read Across America Week.

“He is really good with the students. The students were really amazed by the magic show,” expressed Persinger.
