Wagner named Flemington Elementary Teacher of the Year

FLEMINGTON—One local teacher was recognized as Teacher of the Year for her love and dedication to her students.

At last week’s Taylor County Board of Education meeting, that was held at Flemington Elementary School, fourth grade teacher Jessica Wagner was named Flemington Elementary School’s Teacher of the Year.

Superintendent Christy Miller presented Wagner with a box of chocolates and a book titled “Because I had a teacher,” with a special message from the board of education.

Miller shared that she watched Wagner last year and she had a few difficult students, but from her dedication they are able to see growth in them.

“We just want to say thank you for your dedication and keep up the good work,” she expressed.

After the presentation, each board member thanked Wagner for her dedication to the students.

Board President Pat Tucker told Wagner he would like to thank her for her dedication to the students.

“The love and enthusiasm you have for the students shows and we cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate you,” he expressed

Board Member Melissa Garvin shared that she visited the school a few weeks ago and was floored by the love and enthusiasm in the school.

“You know everyone here is loved and it is amazing thank you for pouring that out every day,” she expressed.
