Veltri finishes first at Bearcat Invitational


GRAFTON—The Taylor County Middle School cross country team raced in the Bearcat Invitational last Saturday, at West Taylor Elementary School.

The TCMS Lady Knights had an outstanding race, and as a team, they placed third, while the boys had an impressive showing as they finished sixth.

The highlight for the day for the TCMS program was the first-place finish by JT Veltri, in the boys race. This was Veltri’s first win this season as he finished with a time of 11:27.

The remaining running Knights were Jacob Maier (46th), Dustin Keener (55th), Austin Mayle (57th), Corbin Knotts (58th), Harrison Maier (59th), Gavin Royce (60th), Aiden Sheme (75th), Gabriel Young (80th) and Mason Dunham (85th).

Avrie Kelley was the fastest Lady Knight with a time of 13:19, which was good enough for seventht-place.

The remaining Lady Knights to cross the finish line were Kendra Rogucki (8th), Emily Viani (15th), Maddie Moats (26th), River Sipes (34th), Kevie Sipes (39th), Kayla Greathouse (48th), Kelsey Massie (51st), Caitlyn Boylen (54th) and Carrie Ellen Richards (56th).
