TYGART LAKE— With the weather warming up, one of the area’s treasures will soon be swarming with tourists, and Tygart Lake Marina owners Daniel and Deanna Williams are excited and ready to welcome patrons to the waters of Tygart Lake.
According to the Williams’, the marina is set to open for business on May 15, to kick off lake season, and returning visitor may notice a few changes to help improve the quality of each visit.
During the offseason, additional parking was added as part of the improvement efforts happening within Tygart Lake State Park.
Daniel Williams generously donated the labor for the construction of the new spaces in cooperation with the state park, who has funded the materials for the project.
The project not only added new spaces to the current parking area, but erected an entirely new lot above the marina’s restroom area.
Williams and the crew from Dan’s Marine Service have been working diligently to complete the project in time for the 2021 boating season and thus far, are on track to do so.
The new parking will offer angled spaces on both sides of the one-way as guests drive through the marina, whereas the newly constructed top lot will be a gravel area similar to the existing overflow parking that is located at the entrance.
With word about Taylor County’s slice of heaven circulating quickly, each year, the park and marina draw in more visitors than the last, and this season, officials are anticipating another record breaking year.
In an effort to keep things flowing smoothly this season, lake-goers are encouraged to carpool when possible, and to utilize the overflow parking when traveling in groups as this will assist in alleviating any parking lot congestion at Tygart Lake Marina.
With projects wrapping up, as the kickoff to lake season inches nearer, Williams is excited to see boats on the water once more and people taking advantage of not only the marina but all that Tygart Lake State Park has to offer.
Don’t have a boat of your own? That’s okay. Tygart Lake Marina offers an opportunity for everyone to spend some time on the water with their boat rentals.
Guests can enjoy a day on the lake in their choice of a pontoon or fishing boat, with rentals through the marina. Advanced reservations are recommended, especially for holiday weekends.
Reservations can be made by calling 304-265-3974 after May 15 and by calling 304-265-0188 before May 15.
