The Lodge receives rave reviews

TAYLOR COUNTY—The Lodge Restaurant at Tygart Lake State Park has come through their first summer season to rave reviews from the community.

“We have been blessed with success from the tremendous support of the community,  Some folks eat up here once a week,” said Tygart Lake Park Assistant Superintendent Pat Miller.

Since the state park took control of the food and beverage location and opened The Lodge on July 8th it has enjoyed great success.  Many boaters were thrilled to learn that The Lodge would also being doing dock deliveries as the restaurant has in the past.

The new outdoor patio is also a game changer for The Lodge and its diners. The patio offers a breath taking view of the gorgeous Tygart Lake that diners can’t help but enjoy.

Talking to locals, their signature crab cakes are a Taylor County favorite.  Whether it be the crab cake dinner or the crab cake sandwich, it’s a hit either way.

“When eating a crab cake sandwich at The Lodge, if you close your eyes you wold think you are at the beach.  Yes they are that good.” said Grafton resident Jeanie Bord.

If you are staying at the Lodge, visiting the lake or just want a good meal with a stunning view and good hospitality, The Lodge is the place to be.  Some visitors just come to enjoy a glass of wine or a local beer on the patio.

For those interested in keeping up with the weekly specials, they are announced on the Tygart Lake State Park Foundation Facebook page weekly.

The Sunday breakfast buffet is always a crowd pleaser, full of delicious breakfast foods.  The Sunday breakfast buffet is from 8am-11am and is $10.99 for adults and $7.99 for children (4-10).

This Sunday’s lunch buffet is the very popular chicken or beef fajita bar.  The Sunday lunch buffet starts at 11:30 and ends at 4pm.  The cost for the fajita bar is $14.99 for adults and $7.99 for children (4-10).

The Lodge tries to change up the Sunday lunch buffet to keep things interesting.  They have done buffets featuring Italian cuisine, early Thanksgiving and southern home cooking, just to name a few.

It will be exciting to see the new things that The Lodge will bring to Taylor County in the future.
