TCMS XC holds Taylor County Invitational

GRAFTON—The Taylor County Middle School cross country team ran their first home meet of the season on Wednesday night, as they hosted several teams in the Taylor County Invitational.

On a very hot and muggy evening, the Knights ran against teams from Suncrest, Mountaineer, Middle, East Fairmont, West Fairmont, Belington, Bridgeport, Mountaineer (Harrison), Elkins, Central Preston, Aurora, Robert L Bland, Washington Irving and West Preston.

After a slight delay as the officials waited for the temperature to drop below 90 degrees, the Lady Knights ran a great race. They finished in the sixth spot in their meet and the boys team finished in eighth place.

Kendra Rogucki was once again the fastest Lady Knight as she finished the course at West Taylor in 14:23 which was good enough for 15th place.

The remaining Lady Knights were Emily Viani (34th), River Sipes (39th), Maddie Moats (52nd), Kevie Sipes (63rd), Kayla Greathouse (64th), Caitlyn Boylen (91st), Kelsey Massie (93rd) and Chloe Saltis (95th).

JT Veltri again paced the TCMS boys with a time of 12:24 and recorded a fifth-place finish in the home meet.

The remaining Knight runners were Jacob Maier (45th), Aiden Sheme (48th), Dustin Keener (56th), Harrison Maier (61st), Corbin Knotts (67th), Gavin Royce (70th), Gabriel Young (75th), Austin Mayle (79th), Mason Dunham (96th) and Landon Brown (99th).

The TCMS Knights will run again on Tuesday night, when they head to Doddridge County. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.
