TCMS track ends season at Harry Green Invitational

BRIDGEPORT—The Taylor County Middle School track team ran their final events of the season last Saturday, at the Harry Green Invitational at Bridgeport High School.

The track at Wayne Jamison Field was packed with runners from Ritchie County, Winfield, Hurricane, Wildwood, Doddridge County, Buckhannon, Bridgeport, Central Preston, Mountaineer Middle, Park Middle, Suncrest, Williamstown, St. Francis, Mountaineer Middle (Harrison), Washington Irving, Wood County, Tyler Consolidated, Gilmer County, Davis Thomas, South Harrison, RL Bland, Ripley, Tygarts Valley, Pleasants County, Elkins, and Lincoln.

On the boys side of the track, JT Veltri stood out in the crowded infield at BHS and came away with a seventh-place finish in the high jump.

Teammate Dylan Blake impressed the crowd with an eighth-place finish in the discus.

The top relay team for the TCMS boys was the 4x200 team, who came back to TCMS with a sixth-place finish.

The 4x200 team consists of Dylan Blake, Justin Spiker, James Hoskins and Braydon McCullough.

On  the girls side, the top finishers for TCMS were in the 4x800 relay team.

The team of Alyssa Satterfield, Meredith Maier, Kendra Roguski and Avrie Kellley finished in fifth-place.

With the conclusion of the meet, the 2018 track season came to an end for the Knights.
