TCMS Knights start slow against Braves

GRAFTON – The Taylor County Middle School boys basketball team played their first contest of the new year on Tuesday night as they hosted the Braves of Bridgeport Middle.

The Knights started slow as they were only able to put seven points on the board in the first quarter with Alex Hess recording four of the seven points. The second quarter was almost even as the Braves would only outscore the Knights by two points. At the half BMS was up 24 to 16 over the Knights.

The Knights played the Braves tough in the third, but ran out of gas in the fourth as they go on to lose to the Braves 54 to 35.

Jacob Maier led the Knights with 13 points in the contest. The remaining TCMS points were scored by JT Veltri (6), Bryson Bish (5), Alex Hess (4), Cole Mooney (3), Harrison Maier (2) and Dustin Keener (2).

The JV Knights also fell to the Braves 44 to 33. The TCMS points were scored by Kenny Humphries (8), Mason Dunham (4), Ben Louzy (3), Gavin Hess (3), Isaiah Vanscoy (2), Garrett Hudson (2), Ethan Weaver (2), McCray Blackwell (2), Layne England (2) and Adrian Joyce (1).

The Knights were back in action last night as they hosted Barrackville at TCMS.
