PRUNTYTOWN—The Taylor County Middle School boys soccer team held its first scrimmage of the season, last Thursday night, against Notre Dame, at McKinney Field.
The Knights dominated from the start and never looked back on their way to a 6—1 victory.
The Knights scoring began early on a corner kick from Garin Chambers, that connected with the foot of Devin Weaver for the first goal.
The second goal was on a through ball from Cody Abraham to Adrian Joyce, while the third goal was scored by Layne England as it deflected off the goalie and into the net.
All three of these goals were scored in the first half.
The scoring continued in the second half, as Landon Hulley crossed the ball in front of the net, and Joyce was there it put it in.
The fifth goal was also scored by Joyce with the assist from Hulley. The final Knights goal was scored by Gage McVicker, as he deflected on off the goalie to give the Knights the win.
On the evening the Knights outshot the Irishmen 17—1.
In goal for the Knights were Levi Miller and Garin Chambers.
The first regular season game for the Knights will be an away contest in Elkins. The boys game begins at 7:00 p.m.
The TCMS girls soccer team will play before the boys at 5:30 p.m.
