GRAFTON—The Taylor County Middle School hosted two games last Tuesday night, as both the boys and girls teams were in action.
The Knights played host to the Morgantown Christian Academy. This was the first match-up between these two schools.
The Lady Knights played the first game of the evening, and they had little trouble with Morgantown ending with a 33—7 victory.
The game was actually close in the first quarter, as the Knights only held a 6—4 advantage after one. The second quarter seemed to be the difference in the game, as the Lady Knights out-scored Morgantown 15—0.
The lady Knights would only allow three more points in the contest, winning the lop-sided contest.
Meredith Maier was the leading scorer for TCMS, pouring in 12, followed by Sydney Friend and Madison Mayle with five apiece.
The remaining Lady Knight points came from Amber Smith (3), Frederique Maloley (3), Jordan Niggemyer (2) and Mara Griffith (2).
The TCMS girls will be back in action on January 4, as they will host the Bridgeport Braves. The tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. for JV and 7:15 p.m. for Varsity.
The final contest of the night was once again dominated by TCMS. The TCMS boys team almost pitched a shutout as they won 56—3.
The leading scorer for the Knights was Ryan Maier with 12 points, followed by Justin Spiker with 11.
The remaining knights in the score book were Kameron Schevoront (8), JT Veltri (8), Cayden Boylen (6), Harrison Maier (4), Daniel Bord (2), Charles Hoskins (2), Dustin Keener (2) and James Helmondollar (1).
The Knights will be back in action on January 4, as they travel to Bridgeport to face the Braves. The JV tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., and 7:15 p.m. for the Varsity.
