FAIRMONT—The Taylor County cross country team competed in Fairmont last week at the Times Invitational, at Apple Valley Golf Course.
The Knights ran against teams from Mountaineer Middle, Suncrest, Saint Francis, East Fairmont, West Fairmont, South Middle, Rivesville Middle, Barracksville Middle, Washington Irving, Philippi, Notre Dame, Westwood and Lincoln.
In team competition, the Lady Knights finished in sixth-place, and the boys finished in the middle of the pack in seventh-place.
Avrie Kelley was the fastest Lady Knight, as she finished with a time of 14:41, which was good enough for sixth-place.
Kendra Rogucki was next Knight to cross the finish line with a time of 15:03 for a 12th-place.
The remaining finishers were Emily Viani (19th), Maddie Moats (35th), Kevie Sipes (48th), Kayla Greathouse (55th) and River Sipes (58th).
On the boy’s side of the course, JT Veltri continued to run at a high level, as he finished in seventh-place, with a time of 13:11.
The next Knight to finish the course was Jacob Maier with a 54th-place finish.
The remaining Knights to finish the race were Austin Maier (58th), Harrison Maier (63rd), Dustin Keener (64th), Corbin Knotts (70th) and Gavin Royce (86th).
Caitlyn Boylen was the first Lady Knight to cross the finish line in the junior varsity race, as she finished in 16th-place.
The remaining runners were Carrie Ellen Richards (37th), Chloe Saltis (38th), Yvonna Knotts (51st), Miranda Sharps (69th), Ellie Royce (81st) and Launa Walls (84th).
Aiden Sheme finished in first-place in the boys JV race, with a time of 14:23.
The remaining runners included Landon Brown (61st), Gabriel Young (63rd) and Mason Dunham (98th).
The Knights ran in the Doddridge County Invitational last night.
