TCMS cross country competes at Mountain Hollar Invitational

MORGANTOWN—The Taylor County Middle School cross country team traveled to Morgantown last Wednesday night, to compete in the Mountain Hollar Invitational. The Knights ran against teams from Mountaineer, St. Francis, Suncrest, Bridgeport, East Fairmont, South, West Fairmont, Bridge Street, Tridelphia, Warwood, Trinity, Cameron, Bruceton, Sherrad, Belington, Kasson, South Preston, West Preston, Wheeling, Westwood, Fairmont Catholic, RLB, Central Preston and Clay-Battelle.

In varsity action, the boys placed tenth while the girls placed fourteenth out of the 24 teams.

Running for the boys were Ryan Maier (30th), Caden Boylen (49th), Matthew Hellmondollar (60th), James Hellmondollar (86th), Gabriel Spino (99th) and Jacob Maier (119th).

Running for the girls were Avrie Kelley (35th), Kendra Rogucki (58th), Sierra Walls (86th), Chloe Saltis (100th), Emma Fridley (102nd), Alyssa Rogucki (104th) and River Sipes (105th).

In Junior Varsity action, both the boys and girls teams finished in eighth place.

Running for the boys team were Blake Copeland (55th), Harrison Maier (77th), Gavin Royce (85th), Dustin Keener (88th), Aiden Sheme (105th), Landon Brown (116th) and Elias Rubenstein (118th).

The TCMS girls were Kelsey Massie (47th), Jada Johnson (53rd), Maddie Moats (60th), Carrie Ellen Richards (92nd), Caitlyn Boylen (109th), Kaitlyn Saltis (115th), Stephanie Collins (116th), Ellie Royce (128th), Miranda Sharp (129th) and Launa Walls (137th).

The boys and girls will be back in action tonight as they will run their first home meet at West Taylor Elementary School. The meet will begin at 4:30 pm.
