Taylor County Youth Football and Cheer announces sign ups

TAYLOR COUNTY— Taylor County Youth Football and Cheer has announced upcoming dates for those wishing to sign up to be a Bearcub this fall.

The program consists of three age divisions for both cheerleading and football; Mighty Mites for ages six and seven, Peewee for those seven-ten and Midget for the 10-12 age range. The players age as of July 31 will determine which team they will play or cheer for.

Those interested can sign up on Friday, June 4  from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., or on Saturday, June 5 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until noon at the Message of Freedom Fellowship Hall, located next to Donald Ford Funeral Home along Rt. 50.

Parents should bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate, and also have insurance information on hand to complete the necessary paperwork. Athletes will also need to have a physical completed prior to the start of practice in order to be eligible to participate.

The cost to register as a Bearcub football player for the 2021 season will be $85, and will include a team t-shirt and shorts, whereas the fee to be a little Lady Bearcub cheerleader for the season will be $60.

There is a limited amount of participants permitted on each team.

The necessary registration forms can be found on the organizations Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/Taylor-County-Youth-Football-and-Cheer-216327185056903. These forms can be printed out and filled out before attending sign ups to save time and prevent a crowd from forming.

For everyone’s safety, masked are required to be worn by all those attending sign ups.
