Taylor County Soccer represented at WV Soccer Association Open Cup


TAYLOR COUNTY—Taylor County Soccer concluded their 2019 spring season last week, but not before two teams qualified and represented the league at the West Virginia Soccer Association’s “Open Cup” tournament, held in Barboursville, WV.

The U12 coed team “Thunderstruck,” coached by Amanda Uhl, Joey Haddix, and Tim Brake, represented Taylor County with class, sportsmanship, and physical play, but came up just short in placing in their bracket.

Team members include (in alphabetical order) Jayla Blackhurst, Maggie Brake, Sofia Brake, Jennah Charlton, Noah Foley, Madalyn Haddix, Charlie Halfin, Kamden Hulley, Bryce Kelley, Clair McCarthy, Drew Moore, Anna Poling, Miley Shingleton, and Noah Uhl.

The U12 girls’ team “Reign”, coached by Arthur Knight and Shawn Rubenstein, also represented Taylor County and were extremely competitive, as well.

Team members for the Reign include (in alphabetical order) Sophia Collins, Riley Countryman, Isabella Glaspell, Meghan Henline, Kaitlyn Hutson, Macy Johnson, Regan Knight, Leah Knotts, Kellen Lambert, MacKenzie Mayle, Autumn Newman, Aubrey Roy, Violet Rubenstein, and Lydia Wildroudt.
