Taylor County reports 21 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total count to 149

County count now at 33 Active, 108 Recovered, & 8 Deaths

TAYLOR COUNTY--, Doctor David Bender, County Health Officer today announced that the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department has confirmed Taylor County’s 129th through 149th new positive cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) involving Taylor County residents.

The patients, who vary in ages, are currently in isolation at their homes.

One of the new positives is an employee of Flemington Elementary School, but through tracing and investigations between Taylor County Schools and the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department it was determined no staff or students were exposed and the facility has not been affected.

Epidemiological investigation to include contact tracing is currently underway.

This brings Taylor County to a total of 33 active Covid-19 cases.

We remind everyone that we are conducting FREE daily community testing at our mobile drive-thru site at the First Baptist Church of Grafton on US Rt 119, Monday thru Friday from noon to 2pm.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, everyone is urged to follow best health practices as issued by the Governor’s Executive Orders and outlined by the WV Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).
