Taylor County Little League ready to play ball

TAYLOR COUNTY—It is nearly time to dust off home plate and play some ball! In preparation, Taylor County Little League has recently released registration information for the upcoming season.

In-person sign-ups are slated for Saturday, February 20, from 9:00 a.m. until noon, and are being held at Knights of Columbus, which is located adjacent to Anna Jarvis Elementary School.

This event is for baseball players wishing to participate in the Minor League, coach/machine pitch, for ages 6-8, or Minor League, player pitch, for those ages 9-10.

Additionally, Mayor League is offered for players between the ages of 11 and 12, and a Senior League is dedicated to the 13 to 16 age group.

The cost to play is $45 for the first player, and $35 for each additional player within the same family.

Officials with the league have noted that masks are being required for those registering in-person.

Tryouts have been scheduled for Saturday, March 6, at Anna Jarvis, weather permitting, with a supplemental tryout day being reserved for Monday, March 8. Approximate times for tryouts have yet to be determined and will be shared at a later date.
