Taylor County goes green in COVID battle

TAYLOR COUNTY—For the first time in months, Taylor County has moved back into a green category on the WV DHHR County Alert System map.
In addition, Grafton-Taylor County Health Department Threat Preparedness Coordinator Shawn Thorn has reported that the county’s percent positivity has also fallen drastically into a green designation. It was reported on Sunday that the percent positivity was only 2.71 for the county, giving health officials hope in the ongoing battle against COVID-19.
As of press time on Tuesday, February 2021, the Grafton-Taylor County Health Department issued the following numbers for Taylor County Coronavirus testing :
770 Total positive
190 Probable cases
27 Currently active
723 Total recovered
20 Deaths
The Grafton-Taylor County Health Department reminds everyone that they are conducting FREE daily community testing at their mobile drive-thru site at the First Baptist Church of Grafton on US Rt 119, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, from noon until 2:00 p.m., with 100 percent free Flu Vaccinations (no billing and zero cost to patients) at the testing site.
Individuals are asked to please not call the church for any testing info. Questions should be directed to the health department by phone at 304-265-1288.
