TAYLOR COUNTY—Springtime is a time of rebirth, where the gray days of winter are shed, and the world rejoices in bright colors and sweet melodies. To help add to the sweet sounds of the season, local vocal groups will be taking part in a singing extravaganza.
Grafton High School and Taylor County Middle School Director of Choirs Duretha Mayle is thrilled to announce that the angelic voices of Taylor County’s talented singers will be spotlighted during a Combined Spring Choral Concert.
The event is slated for Monday, May 9, beginning at 7:00 p.m., in the Grafton High School Auditorium.
During the event, the gifted members of the Taylor County Middle School 5th and 6th Grade Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Sarah Chiado will take to the stage, along with the Taylor County Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Choir, Grafton High School Concert Choir and the Grafton High School Entertainers Edition 51, all under the direction of Mayle.
Each group will have their moment in the spotlight, to perform a selection of songs of their choosing.
Then, before guests depart for the evening, they will be treated to a combined finale that is sure to leave them feeling excited for the season.
The show is free and open to the public, and Mayle encourages the community to come out and show their support for the students who give countless hours of their time to practice their craft.
“While admission is free, we will be gladly accepting any donations that individuals may wish to make, to help support the future of the choral programs in our county schools,” Mayle commented.
So mark your calendars, head over to Grafton High School and get ready to see some of the area’s most talented singers and dancers take the stage in a performance you won’t want to miss!
