GRAFTON—Summer fun has just begun, and Studio C will be adding to the excitement by offering four weeks of dance camps.
The events will be broken apart into two separate age categories and will feature a new theme each week for both categories.
Beginning Monday, June 27, participants ages three to six, will be treated like royalty with a princess theme.
Each day, campers will dance their way through extraordinary tales of princesses and fairies, while learning the art of ballet, with the addition of creative movements that are sure to spark a young imagination.
The camp will also offer the opportunity to get crafty, with tiara and wand making.
And while the littles will become princesses for the week, the older camp, designed for those ages seven to 13, will be living it up, getting summer started with a dance party theme.
“At Studio C every day is a party! For this camp dancers will enjoy an exciting week filled with learning, dance and, of course, fun,” voiced Studio C owner Casey Cox.
This week of camp will teach camp goers a high-energy jazz routine and will have students crafting some of their own attire.
The first week of camps will conclude on Friday, July 1.
For week two, schedule for July 11-15, Studio C will transport students to an underwater world, with their Under the Sea theme for the younger group, featuring everything under the seas related and having them using their imaginations to become magical mermaids.
The elder group will continue the party with a Beach Party theme that will boast an upbeat summer routine. In addition, students of this camp will be creating their very own luau skirt, flower lei necklace, sunglasses and more.
Week three, taking place August 1-5, will have the three-six-year-olds diving into the magical world of Disney’s Encanto.
“I’m so excited about Encanto week! It is just a fun movie with some great songs that will have us all moving to the beat,” shared Cox.
Stay Cool for the Summer will be week three’s theme for the second age group, and just might be a student favorite.
Throughout the week, dancers will be doing a lot more than dancing, with tie dye activities, decorating sunglass and more, becoming “too cool”, as they show off their new skills with a fast-paced jazz number.
Wrapping up the camp series the week of August 15-19, as those sweet summer days wind down, the final camp for the tiny dancers will be centered around dance world favorite, JoJo Siwa, with a Sparkly Bows and Twinkle Toes theme.
This JoJo inspired camp is sure to be tons of fun for the younger dancers, as they have a blast creating their own signature JoJo bows.
And for week four with the older group, it will be Cheernastics, with five days of dance, tumbling and cheering.
Students will be focusing on achieving new tumbling skills, while learning a cheer inspired dance and performing some jaw dropping stunting and making their own spirit sticks and cheer bows.
Dancers may choose to take part in just one camp or can save by bundling multiple camps.
Camps include dance instruction, choreography, crafts, t-shirts and a snack.
At the conclusion of each camp, family and friends will get the chance to see what their child has been learning with informal performances on the last day of each week.
The cost for one camp is $100, while two is $175, three is $250 and by bundling and dancing the summer away in all four camp you can save $100 and take part for just $300.
Each week ,the three-six age camps will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and the seven-13 group will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
In addition to offering camps, instructor/choreographer Kaylie Bolyard will also be offering summer dance lessons for those wishing to stay sharp on their toes during the off season.
Privates, duets and trio slots are available on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5:00-8:00 p.m. with prices starting at $15 and ranging to $40 depending on the type of dance, length of class and frequency.
