Sting Rays, Matrix and Whales record shutout victories

TAYLOR COUNTY— Last week in Taylor County Youth Soccer league action, the Sting Rays claimed two more wins to add to their undefeated record. 

First taking on Marion County Fidler, Sting Ray Adree Wiles led the team with six goals, in the 10-0 shutout victory. 

In addtion to Wiles’s half a dozen, Ella Moore, Kayleigh Weaver, Lexi Mlinarcik and Summer McCauley each contributed a goal during the contest. 

The team would collect their second win, with another landslide victory, while in action against Marion County Soccer Club’s team Satterfield. 

In the 9-0 win, Wiles once against led scoring with three goals, while Moore, Mlinarcik and Weaver each added two. 

Like the Taylor County Sting Rays, the Matrix, coached by Amanda Uhl, have also seen success of the field this season. 

On April 23, the team faced off against Lewis County’s team Varah, putting on a solid performance to capture the 3-1 advantage. 

Goals were scored by Brayden Bailey, Noah Foley and Bryce Kelley. 

The Matrix then entered play against Taylor County’s team Everett. With a strong defensive showing, the Matrix held their opponent scoreless and earned the 4-0 win. 

Kaige Andrews led the team with two goals, while Bailey and Foley each recorded one. 

Rounding out the week’s play, the Taylor County Whales had a dominating performance of their own. 

Meeting up with a team from Barbour County, the Whales put on an excellent offensive disp-lay for a 8-0 win, with Bria Moore, Ella Moore, Kayleigh Weaver and Hali Wood combining for the victory, with two goals each.
