Sign up forms pulled from paper

TAYLOR COUNTY—Unfortunately, because of the increased theft of newspapers from our racks throughout the county, we have been forced to pull the sign up forms for the Gigantic Toy Giveaway and the FOP’s First Responders and Leer Coal Miners’ Christmas from the paper.

Those wishing to still enroll their children in the events may pick up copies of the sign up forms at the Mountain Statesman office. We will have both the toy giveaway and first responder forms here for residents to acquire.

Forms may picked up during regular business hours, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Gigantic Toy Giveaway entries must be turned in by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22. Late entries will not be accepted.

First Responders and Leer Coal Miners’ Christmas sign ups may also be picked up from the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Monday through Friday, during regular courthouse hours of 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

First Responders and Leer Coal Miners’ Christmas entry forms must be mailed to the address on the form and received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, but to ensure the sustainability of your local paper, we must see revenue generated from sales in our racks. Unfortunately, multiple papers were being taken, in essence stolen, by residents of the community, so to ensure area youths still have wonderful programs to take part in during the Christmas season, we are offering this solution.
