Sharon Lee Wilfong, 68, of Shinnston, WV (Boothesville Community), passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at the WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born in Lexington, VA on January 31, 1950.
Ms. Wilfong was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Norma Gaines Knight and Alva Knight Jr.
Sharon is survived by three sons: Timothy S. Wilfong and wife Kimberly of Clarksburg; Toby L. Wilfong and wife Kami of Fairmont; and Tyler R. Wilfong of Morgantown; two grandchildren: Benjamin Wilfong of Fort Collins, CO and Julianne Wilfong of Clarksburg; one great-granddaughter, Piper; and one brother, Steven Irvine of GA.
Sharon was a beautician for several years before deciding to return to school at Fairmont State to pursue a degree in nursing. She then worked for nearly 30 years as a Registered Nurse at Mon General, Ruby Memorial, and United Hospital Center. Sharon was a very determined individual, even after a terrible automobile accident left her with many physical challenges, she still pushed on over-coming her disability and continuing to work and move forward with things she enjoyed. She loved traveling, gardening, and especially flowers. Sharon also had a love for line-dancing and even appeared with a group on CMT.
Family and friends will be received at the Bradley J. Mayle Funeral Home in Flemington, WV, on Thursday, April 5, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at the Flemington I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
