Set sail on a daring pirate adventure with Tygart Lake CruisesRelay For Life of North Central WV gears up for grand event

TYGART LAKE— ARRRRGH, Mateys! Get ready to set sail on an adventure you won’t soon forget, as Tygart Lake Cruises has announced a Pirate Day Cruise later this month.

“The Tygart Lake pirates are up to their usual shenanigans and have stolen the Princess’s treasure chest. They have agreed to a battle to see who gets to keep the treasure and the winners get to raid the treasure chest for jewels and prizes - The great news is, we always win,” the event webpage denoted.

Take off on an interactive pirate themed cruise along the ten miles of scenic Tygart Lake, during this exciting opportunity for guests of all ages. Attendees are being asked to wear their best pirate costume while helping to fend off the attacks of rival pirates with onboard water shooters, so participants should be prepared to get wet!

“Just bring yourself, your family and some towels! Maybe a change of clothes too,” the website boasts. “Don’t forget to bring your camera and get some photos before setting sail but remember to bring a protective case or ziplock bag.”

According to event organizers, those wishing to stay dry for the ride have the option by remaining on the lower deck of the vessel, which is enclosed and provides shelter from the ensuing water battle, along with a snack bar where guest can purchase snacks and drinks.

Additionally, the lower deck provides beautiful views of Tygart Lake and the surrounding mountains to enjoy throughout the cruise. And during the charter back to the dock even the kids can unwind with the beautiful scenery.

This cruise is open to those of all ages, but keep in mind that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times, especially when they are on the upper deck as a safety precaution.

The Pirate Cruise is set for departure on Friday, June 17 at 5:00 p.m., and will last approximately an hour and a half full of laughs and memory making to all who join in on the fun.

The cost to join the ride and take down the rival pirates is $20 per person, and children under five years of age can take part for free.

Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase at an additional cost, and only cash will be accepted for those.

Advance reservations and tickets are required, as there will be a limited number of people admitted onto the ship for each event.

In addition, it is asked that those joining in on the cruise be prepared to board the vessel at Tygart Lake Marina 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.

Life jackets will be provided, and those bringing phone and camera are suggested to also bring along a waterproof bag of some sort in order to keep their valuables dry during battle, as well as towels to dry off with and possible a change of clothes if desired.

“So, if you are looking for a fun day on the lake with your family, come join us at Tygart Lake Cruises in Grafton, WV for our next Pirate Day cruise. We look forward to seeing you,” event organizers exclaimed.
