GRAFTON— On Thursday, Taylor Health Care Center held an annual ceremony to honor veterans at the nursing home for their service and sacrifices made for America’s freedoms.
Activities Director Joyce Moore welcomed everyone to the center and told them it was an honor to have everyone with them.
Representatives Cindy Woodyard and Sonia Bailey-Gibson from WV Caring were at the ceremony and presented each veteran resident with a certificate and pin.
Kaitlin Bishop and Nicole Dulaney with Amedisys Home Health were also present and presented certificate and tiny remembrance soldiers.
The veterans honored at the event were Gerald Moore, Betty Sevier, Ernest Tenney and Paul Thomas, William Mayfield, Daniel Wright and David “Mack” Mcintosh for their service.
Members from the Taylor County Honor Guard were also at the ceremony and presented the 13 Folds of the Flag Ceremony to the residents and attendees.
During the ceremony, member Hollis Gregory shared what each fold in the flag represents, as two other honor guard members demonstrated the folding of the flag.
The event closed with refreshments and snacks for everyone to enjoy.
