GRAFTON— There have been some recent schedule changes for two Taylor County football programs, allowing spectators to cheer on their favorite players right here at home this week.
The Taylor County Middle School Knights were originally scheduled to play on the road today at Tygarts Valley High School to take on Elkins, however, since the schedule was released, the location for that matchup has been changed.
Now, the Knights will suit up and take to McKinney Field tonight, Wednesday, September 29, to go head-to-head with Elkins.
Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m., and the contest has been deemed Camo Night. Fans are asked to deck out in their best camo attire, as they cheer on the Knights, who will be looking to build on their perfect 4-0 record.
Additionally, the Grafton High School Bearcat football team was also scheduled to be on the road in Elkins this Friday night.
According to Bearcat Head Coach Rich Bord, that contest has also been relocated due to an Elkins field issue.
Now the Bearcats will play under the lights of McKinney Field on Friday, October 1 against Elkins. The Bearcat kickoff is also schedule for 7:00 p.m.
With this change in Grafton’s schedule, the team will play the remainder of the season on their home field.
Grafton’s remaining schedule is as follows: 10/1 home vs. Elkins, 10/8 home vs. Richwood, 10/15 home vs. Philip Barbour (homecoming game), 10/22 home vs. Buckhannon, 11/5 home vs. Lewis County. All contests will begin at 7:00 p.m.
The remaining schedule for the Knights program will be as follows: 9/29 home vs. Elkins, 10/7 at Buckhannon (6:30 p.m.), 10/13 home vs. Lincoln (eighth grade night), 10/20 home vs. R.L. Bland. Home matchups will begin at 7:00 p.m.
