Sanford G. Rosier Sr, 87 of Avon, passed away Thursday December 21, 2017. Sanford was born on September 6, 1930 in Grafton, WV. He retired from the Ford Motor Co. in Avon Lake. He was a member of Mid-Century Free and Accepted 32nd Degree Mason No. 725 Avon Lake. He served in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War, his company was in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.
He is survived by his children, Charles (Anita) Rosier of Palm Bay, FL, Pam (Craig) Fox of Avon, OH, Barb Hendrickson of Sheffield Lake, Sam (Becky) Rosier of Melbourne, FL; son-in-law, Bob Butti of Avon, grandchildren, Craig, Shannon, Keith, Kim, Michael, Kevin, Ashley, and Bryce; great-grandchildren Taylor, Elizabeth, Zoe, Caroline and Xavier; sister, Mary Mossetti; brothers, Bob, Harold, Larry, and Jimmy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Nina (nee Godwin) Rosier; daughter, Roseanna 'Ruthie' Butti; parents Charles and Beaulah Rosier; brothers, Earl, Herbert, John, and Richard.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave. on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Kelley officiating.
Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24 and their auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Guard of Camp Dawson. Masonic burial rites will be rendered by The Grafton Lodge # 15 AF&AM.
