R.M. “Mickey” Swick, 77, of Grafton, passed away on February 28.
Mickey was born on September 9, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV. After graduating from Roosevelt Wilson High School in 1960, he went on to study at Fairmont State College and join the U.S. Army Reserve.
He then worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass, which paved the way for his own home improvement/window businesses.
In 1976, Mickey married Sheila Sandy of Grafton.
Mickey enjoyed sports. Playing fast pitch softball for teams in Clarksburg & Grafton, winning one World ISC Championship in 1971. In the 1970s & early 80s he was President of the International Softball Congress (WV Chapter). Later, Mickey coached Little League & Senior League Baseball in Grafton.
He was a member of Center Branch Baptist Church, the Masonic organizations, Grafton Lodge #15 and Taylor County Shrine Club
Mickey was predeceased by his parents Frank & Ella Mae. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sheila and son Chad.
In keeping with the wishes of Mickey there will be no funeral services. His life can be celebrated by donating to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
