GRAFTON—All right voters, it is that time of year again when individuals begin learning a little more about the candidates running for office, and one local organization is doing its part to help out.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #3081, Memorial City of Grafton and VFW Post 3081 would like to welcome residents to a Meet Your Candidate Night Forum on Friday, October 14, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The event will be held at the Taylor County Senior Citizen’s Center in the downstairs gathering room.
Now is the time to get those questions answered, as the organization is allowing residents of the county to seek information about the candidates, so that an informed decision can be made before the General Election on Tuesday, November 8.
All candidates running for office at the state and local level are invited to attend. If the candidate themselves cannot appear, they may send a representative in their place.
“Again, this year, Robert Bolton will be our moderator for the event,” shared Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary member Nancy Mayle. “He will be on hand to help introduce the candidates and keep things moving smoothly.”
The forum will be conducted in a question and answer format. Those wishing to ask questions are asked to be courteous of the others in attendance, so that the candidates may answer as many questions as possible.
“Candidates will have an opportunity to introduce themselves and give a little background, and then will be given approximately five minutes to talk about their platforms,” Mayle revealed. “Then, residents will be given time to ask their questions.”
This event is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.
And while there are not many contested positions on the ballot, the evening is sure to be enlightening and provide insight into those vying for the chance to represent Taylor County.
“This will be an excelled opportunity to educate yourself before you go vote,” expressed Mayle. “We hope to see you there!”
