Grafton City Hospital is issuing a warning to residents and patients about a telephone scam, in which criminals spoof the Hospital phone number and call residents.
In the same vein as other widespread telephone scams, the caller tells the resident that they can save money by lowering their credit card interest. Pat Shaw, CEO of GCH, warns residents that Grafton City Hospital NEVER has any connection to credit card interest rates. “Do not engage these people, and do not give them any information that could be used to steal your money or identity. Just hang up.” Shaw said.
If you are not sure whether it is Grafton City Hospital contacting you or not, then hang up and call the Hospital directly. We will be happy to assist you.
If anyone feels that they have been victimized, they are encouraged to call the Grafton City Police Department at 304-265-0101.
