Preschool and Head Start sign-ups to kick off on Feb 23


GRAFTON­—Applications for the 2016-2017 Preschool and Head Start programs, through Taylor County Collaborative Preschool, will be taken, starting on Thursday, February 23.

The Universal Preschool Team, which is comprised of the Taylor County Board of Education, North Central West Virginia Community Action Head Start, and Little Feet Daycare and Preschool, have released preschool application dates, as well as, information on the programs.

Universal Preschool sites include: Anna Jarvis Elementary, Flemington Elementary and West Taylor Elementary Schools, as well as, Webster Head Start and Little Feet Preschool.

Parents wishing to enroll their child in the program, can attend sign-ups at any of the sites. If they are unable to attend a sign-up day, applications are available at Community Action, located on Main Street, in Grafton, across from the Mother’s Day Shrine.

Applications may be picked up or dropped off, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m., until 4:00 p.m. For more information, call Community Action at 304-265-3200.

The Taylor County Collaborative Preschools offer center-based services, High/Scope curriculum, health screening services, parent involvement/training opportunities, as well as, resource and referral assistance.

Taylor County Collaborative Preschool team will be signing kids up for the program, starting on February 23, at Little Feet Daycare and Preschool from 3:00-5:30 p.m., and will work through the sites, finishing up on March 7, at West Taylor Elementary School from 8:00 a.m., until 3:00 p.m.
