WESTON—The Grafton Post 12 American Legion baseball team headed to Weston on Monday night, to take on the American Legion team from Jane Lew.
The “Lew” jumped out to an early 8—0 lead, and then held on, as Post 12 scored three late runs. The final saw Jane Lew leave the field at Lewis County with an 8—3 win.
Garrett Moats got the start on the hill for Grafton.
Moats and Chris Miller led the team from the plate on Monday night, as they recorded two hits apiece in the contest.
The only other player to register a hit against Jane Lew was Mark Irvine who singled in the sixth inning.
Devin Vanscoy scored two runs in the contest while Miller was able to cross the plate one time for Post 12.
The next game for Post 12 will be Thursday, at Preston ,and then they will play at Morgantown on Friday.
