Post 12 ends last week with two losses

KINGWOOD – The Grafton Post 12 American Legion team continued play last week, as they headed to Kingwood on Thursday night, to battle Post 56.

Post 12 took a 2—0 lead into the fourth inning, but with a few walks and a couple hit batters, they found themselves down 3—2 after the inning.

Post 56 added two more in the fifth and one in the sixth to pull away with a 6—3 victory.

Chase Setler led Post 12 with three hits in the contest.

The remaining hits were recorded by Dominic Lough (2), TJ Summers (2), Garrett Moats, Chris Miller, Mark Irvine (2) and Tanner Moats.

The Grafton runs were scored by Summers, G. Moats and Irvine.

Devin Vanscoy got the start on the hill for Grafton.

On Friday night, Post 12 made the journey to Morgantown to take on Post 2.

Post 2 dominated play, as they cruised to a 17—0 victory over Grafton.

Post 12 could only manage two hits in the contest.

Garrett Moats was the starting pitcher for Grafton, as he threw two innings. Miller and Summers also threw for Post 12.

The next game for Post 12 will be tonight, in Preston County, against Post 56’s junior team. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
