Nancy Ann (Bays) Wilfong

Nancy Ann (Bays) Wilfong, 80, of Bushnell, FL, passed away Tuesday April 25, 2017 at home surrounded by her family following a 7-month battle with breast cancer. Nancy was born November 4, 1936 at home in Rosemont, West Virginia, to (late) Henry and Cora (Braham) Bays. She attended Stagecoach Junction Fellowship Church. Mrs. Wilfong is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Denver “Dink” Wilfong.


Left to cherish her memory are her six children Deborah DePolo; Timothy Gerard; Louie (Joey) Gerard; Deneise Bray, all of north central WV; Dawna (Robert) Daidone, Palmetto, FL; Kimberly (Bryan) Brewster, San Diego, CA; two grandchildren, Jason DePolo, Saint Petersburg, FL and Treasa (Wesley) Chidester, Redondo Beach, CA, that she and Denver helped raise; 11 other wonderful grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; in addition to seven step-children Denver Jr. (Brenda) Wilfong; Randy (Jeannie) Wilfong; Barbara Bolton; Linda Skidmore; Mark Wilfong, all of north central WV; Jane Reger, Lakeland, FL; Peggy Wilfong, Springfield, OH; 11 step-grandchildren and many (step) great-grandchildren.


Born and raised in West Virginia, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Rosemont. After retirement, Nancy and her late husband managed a campground and river tubing business on the Shenandoah River near Charles Town, WV for 26 years, while spending winters in Florida. She ran the Bingo Hall at Duvall's Trailer park in Bushnell for 17 years, and permanently relocated to central Florida in 2004.


Nancys priority was creating happy memories with her treasured family and friends. Her extended family included many friendships lasting twenty to seventy years.  She never knew a stranger.  Her door was always open.  She was generous and always ready to lend a helping hand.  Nancy's hobbies included working in her flower beds, decorative painting, bingo and caring for her devoted pets.


Nancy is also preceded in death by three sons-in-law Earl DePolo, Raymond Bray, Leonard Reger; and one daughter-in-law, Ann Wilfong; two brothers, James and Paul; and two sisters, Catherine Morgan, Betty Monroe.


A memorial service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11:00am, at Stagecoach Junction Fellowship Church, CW48, in Bushnell. She will be interned later at Florida National Cemetery.
